Space Scholars Overview

The Air Force Research Laboratory The Space Scholars Program invites undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students in the areas of science and engineering to participate in a unique summer research internship. These opportunities exist in the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate, which has facilities at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts; and the National Solar Observatory, Sunspot, New Mexico.

The forte of the Space Scholars Program is the close interaction provided between the students and the Laboratory’s highly regarded researchers. These researchers function as mentors to the students, offering them close support and guidance in carrying out their research.

The application deadline for Summer 2010 Space Scholar opportunities is January 15, 2010.
